From Calling to Community Impact: How One Leader—and 21,000 Children—Found Support Through MVNC

“I wouldn’t be as good of a leader as I am now. And without me being a good leader, the organization doesn’t prosper”, said Kris Horlacher, founder of Shoes 4 the Shoeless.
When Kris launched Shoes 4 the Shoeless in 2010, she was a nurse with zero nonprofit experience - just a calling to help kids who needed shoes.
Through MVNC’s classes, coaching, and support, she gained the tools and confidence to grow her organization from a small local effort to one serving over 21,000 children each year across 21 counties.
Kris says, “MVNC’s help has been invaluable. I don’t know what I would have done if I hadn’t had them as a resource.”
